Q. Are you a regular patron of Choviyar House? What do you find special about it?
Yes, we regularly visit Choviyar House. This initiative by Vardhman Bhakti Dham, inspired by Yugpradhan Acharya Sam Panyas Pravar Shri Chandrashekhar Vijayji Maharaj, is truly a blessing for the Jain community. The food served here is pure, satvik, shuddh, and nirdosh, prepared strictly according to Jain principles, which makes this place feel like a second home for us.
Q. There is often a long waiting time before you can enter. Yet you prefer coming here for meals. Why?
Even if there is a long queue, people happily wait because the purity and values maintained here are unmatched. The food is prepared with devotion, discipline, and proper Jain principles, which gives spiritual satisfaction along with good taste. It is not just about eating food, but about experiencing peace and positivity.
Q. Do you come here daily for meals or only on special occasions? Why?
Many of us come here regularly, especially those who follow Chovihar daily. We also often take tiffin parcels for home and office because the quality, purity, and consistency of food here are exceptional and trustworthy.
Q. Can you share some highlights of the special foods at Choviyar House?
One of the best parts is that the menu is unique every day with a variety of fresh dishes. The food is light, healthy, hygienic, and spiritually satisfying. Every meal is prepared with great care while strictly following Jain traditions and satvik cooking methods.
Q. BDB has made special arrangements to host Choviyar House within the Bourse. Please share a word of appreciation.
We are extremely thankful to the committee for supporting such a noble initiative inside the Bourse. Hosting Choviyar House is not just providing a dining facility, but preserving Jain culture, values, and traditions. Special appreciation also goes to all the volunteers who perform selfless seva with devotion and dedication every single day.

Q. Do you go to Chovihar House every day? What is special about this place?
I have been following this practice for 36 years. And I have been eating here from Day One after the industry shifted to BDB.
I think two important things are – the food is prepared following Jain principles and culture and is served hot and fresh at all times. If we brought food from home it would get cold by the time we eat.
Q. Why do you feel Chovihar House is so popular?
Having this facility within the bourse is really convenient. I can reach from my office to the Hall in less than a couple of minutes. Also the cost – at just Rs 1,200 per month it is almost like absolutely free!
But more than the money saved, and much more than the great quality of the food, is the fact that we have observed choviyar on time.
Q. What do you appreciate most about having your meals here?
There is such a variety on the menu. If someone doesn’t like something, there are many other tasty options.
Also those who run this place… most are working without salaries, to provide a service. I am really grateful to each and every one of them.
